ITM adds NI-9203 Compatibility to iTestSystem

ï»żï»żï»żWe are pleased to announce that the NI-9203 current input module can now be used with iTestSystem and NI CompactDAQ.

The NI-9203 features 8 current inputs , 16-bit resolution, +/- 20 mA range, 200 kS/s maximum sample rate in the C Series form factor.  This module is intended for high-performance control and monitoring applications. The NI-9203 uses multiplexed sampling and an SAR type ADC.

For advice about using the NI-9203 versus other current modules in iTestSystem monitoring applications or with custom cRIO RT and FPGA control applications contact Mark Yeager or Chase Petzinger.

ITM Live Demo Series: Customer DAQ

ï»żAs a part of our new ITM Live Demo series, we’re excited to release this video featuring our custom data acquisition and data logging solutions. During our 17 years in business, we’ve found that every test is a little bit different, especially in ruggedized environments. The best way to account for these custom problems is to create a custom solution for data collection.

Watch now to see as I demonstrate some of the features available with a custom DAQ and explain how this may be just the solution you’re looking for.

If you’re interested in learning more about how a custom DAQ solution built by ITM can help meet your specific testing needs, feel free to contact one of our test specialists by e-mail at info@itestsystem.com or phone at (844) 837-8797.

ITM adds NI-9244 compatibility to iTestSystem

We are pleased to announce that the NI-9244 single ended voltage input module can now be used with iTestSystem and NI CompactDAQ. The NI-9244 features 3 voltage inputs plus 1 neutral input, 24-bit resolution, 400 Vrms L-N, 800 Vrms L-L, 50 kS/s/ch,  in the C Series form factor.  The wide measurement range (400Vrms L-N or 800Vrms L-L) makes it ideal for high-voltage measurement applications such as phasor measurements, power metering, power quality monitoring, industrial machinery, motor testing, and transient or harmonic analysis with high-speed (50kHz) simultaneous sampling.

For advice about using the NI-9244 in stand-a-lone power quality applications or cRIO power monitoring applications contact Mark Yeager.

ITM adds NI-9217 compatibility to iTestSystem

NI 9217 RTD cDAQ Module

We are pleased to announce that the NI-9217 resistance temperature detector (RTD) analog input module can now be used with iTestSystem and NI CompactDAQ.  The NI-9217 features 4 analog inputs, 24-bit resolution, and an aggregate sampling rate of 5 S/s (1.25 S/s per channel) in high accuracy mode.  The high accuracy mode has built in 50/60 Hz noise rejection and less than a 1 °C accuracy error over its entire operating temperature range.

Tip: Since the NI-9217 is the first CompactDAQ RTD module on the compatibility list,  a new RTD channel type was added to iTestSystem.  Right click on Channels in the project tree and select Create New > RTD.

ITM adds NI-9205 compatibility to iTestSystem

NI 9205 cDAQ Voltage Input Module

We are excited to announce that the NI-9205 general purpose analog input module can now be used with iTestSystem and NI CompactDAQ.  Adding this module allows engineers to expand the use of iTestSystem from structural testing and analysis where signal phase relationship is important, into data logging where phase isn’t as high a priority.  The NI-9205 features 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog inputs, 16-bit resolution, and a maximum sampling rate of 250 kS/s.

Our customers really wanted this module added and I can see why.  If the NI-9205 module is combined with iTestSystem’s free feature set, they could build a flexible and cost effective data logger.  With the extended feature set of iTestSystem, they could also build a standalone logger, with triggering and CAN support.

ITM Returning to NI Week as Presenter

During NI Week every year, Austin, Texas, transforms into a mecca for top engineers and scientists worldwide who come by the thousands to absorb the very latest in tech.

This year ITM will once again be attending, but even more exciting is that our team will once again be presenting at the National Instruments sponsored conference.

Ryan Welker, ITM’s Lead Test Engineer, will be co-presenting with NI on “Best Practices for Powering, Mounting, and Enclosing Your CompactDAQ(cDAQ) System” during hour-long sessions on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 10:30 a.m. (Room 12B), then again on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 10:30 a.m. (Room 13A/B).

Ryan will be sharing details about the cDAQ hardware packaging that ITM uses to gather data in even the harshest environments as well as the proprietary iTestSystem software solution (now available as a free download) that ITM has developed to pair with NI’s equipment.

If you are at NI Week, hope you can check out the presentation or feel free to connect with us online.

ITM’s Custom Kits Simplify Vibration Testing

Whether you are diagnosing a mechanical failure in anything from trucks to trains or elevators to excavators, it seems vibration is often the key to tracking down the root cause.

At ITM, we have customized a Vibration Test Kit that is helping our clients isolate vibration levels no matter if they are collecting data for operating deflection shapes (ODS) or measuring overall vibration levels for ISO standards.

Depending on your needs, our rugged and portable Vibration Test Packages will be built with as few as 4 channels or as many as 32 channels and include National Instruments cDAQ chassis combined with NI-9234 accelerometer input cards, power supply, and industrial accelerometers.

In addition, you can use ITM’s iTestSystem software to stream the vibration and rotational speed data from the cDAQ chassis directly to your laptop.

Find out more about our Vibration Test Kit options, and let us know if we can assist your next project.

Explore ITM’s Rugged Data Acquisition Systems for Rent

If the right tool doesn’t exist, build it.

For years that has been the approach ITM engineers have taken when it comes to gathering data and building tests for clients. And after decades of performing structural testing in aerospace, off-highway, automotive, industrial and many other environments, we’ve built up an impressive line of custom Rugged Data Acquisition (RAC) Systems that are now available for rent.

RAC88_3_300 x 228

Our RAC systems integrate NI hardware solutions with our proprietary iTestSystem data acquisition software, so you can be sure these units are technically sound.

At ITM we believe that our ability to make tough measurements for clients is often only limited by the availability of the ideal tool for gathering the right data. In other words, necessity really is the mother of invention.

So whether you need to do some long-term, high-speed in-vehicle data logging or you need a portable and rugged system that can withstand harsh environments while gathering high channel counts, our RAC systems will do the job — or we will customize one that will.

Check out our lineup of Rugged Data Acquisition Systems.
